Safer Play
This page is for every Manitoba Casino player, from the moment you sign up to the moment you log off. It applies whenever your account is open, on any device, at any hour of the day or night.
Bright lights. Clear limits. That is how we run this strip.
1. Our commitment
1.1 Gaming here is paid entertainment. Think of it as the price of a night out, not a paycheque. Wins happen, losses happen, and the house edge is always switched on.
1.2 We build control tools into every account and keep them in plain sight. No digging. No hoops.
1.3 Players can sign up only where local rules permit it. We follow Canadian rules on age, identity checks and anti-money laundering.
1.4 Our team watches for warning signs that gaming is slipping out of control: deposits climbing fast, repeated chasing of losses or long late-night sessions. Spot those patterns and we email the player, and we may pause promotional offers on the account.
1.5 Staff who handle player accounts are trained to recognise warning signs and to respond with care, not pressure.
2. Protecting minors
2.1 Players must be 19 or older. No exceptions.
2.2 No deposits go through until your identity, age and playing location are verified.
2.3 Our promotions are never aimed at people under 19.
2.4 Read our 19+ Policy for the way age gets checked, the action taken when a minor is found using an account, and tips for locking down shared devices.
3. Free, confidential support
3.1 The organisations listed below give free support to players, their relatives and their friends. You may reach out to them directly without informing us first.
- Alberta Health Services Addiction Helpline
- Responsible Gambling Council
- 211 Alberta
- YMCA Youth Gambling Awareness Program
- GameSense
3.2 Reaching out early helps. Nobody needs to hit rock bottom before asking for support.
4. Tools you control
4.1 Every tool below is available in your account settings. If you want help setting one up, email us and we will walk you through it.
4.2 Limits on deposits, wagers and stakes
Cap your deposits, your total wagers and your biggest single bet. Pick a daily, weekly or monthly window. Hit a cap and play halts until the next window opens. Simple as a red light.
4.3 Time alerts and reality checks
Pick an interval and a reminder flashes up on screen mid-session. It shows how long you have played, how much you have staked and your net result to date. From there, carry on, take a break or log out. The lights stay honest.
4.4 Cooling-off break
Take a break from the strip. Pick a pause that runs one day minimum, six weeks maximum. While it runs, deposits and play shut down and promotional emails stop. Once active, the pause can't be ended early. Your account unlocks automatically when the clock runs out.
4.5 Self-exclusion
For a longer distance, self-exclusion blocks your account for a period agreed with our team. For the whole period, we refuse any new account opened in your name and stop all marketing to you. Any real money balance is returned to a verified payment method that belongs to you.
4.6 Closing your account
Ready to leave for keeps? One email to us closes the account. Any real-money balance left goes to a verified payment method in your name, and all marketing stops.
4.7 Identity and location checks before deposits
Deposits are not accepted until your identity and location are confirmed. These know your customer checks keep minors out, prevent fraud and ensure only the genuine account holder is playing.
5. Self-assessment
5.1 Head to your account settings for our self-assessment quiz. The questions push you to take an honest look at your habits, your spending and the role gaming plays in the rest of your life.
5.2 Your answers stay private. The result is shown only to you.
5.3 Some signs worth noticing:
- Spending more than you planned, again and again.
- Playing with borrowed money or funds meant for bills.
- Hiding play from family or friends.
- Feeling irritable or on edge whenever you are not playing.
- Using play as a way to escape problems or a low mood.
5.4 Recognise any of these signs in yourself? Think about setting a limit, contacting one of the support organisations named in section 3, or taking a cooling-off break.
6. How limit changes take effect
6.1 Tighter limits switch on instantly. The moment you lower a limit, it applies.
6.2 Looser limits take 24 hours. When you raise a limit or remove it completely, the change applies only after 24 hours. This delay lets you reconsider your choice.
6.3 Cooling-off periods and self-exclusions run their full term once started. Neither can be cut short.
6.4 During a break or exclusion, offers from Manitoba Boost Weekly Rewards and other promotions are paused. See our Promotion Terms for how offers work.
